Professional Educators of Tennessee is a member-owned, member-governed professional association. We are a statewide professional organization whose members come from all facets of the educational systems in our state and are often characterized as an alternative to union participation. We serve members in pre-K through graduate education in both public and private institutions with the purpose of promoting better education for the children of Tennessee. We are governed by a Board of Directors that are elected by our members. Board members volunteer their services, and receive no pay or compensation. Our philosophy puts the educational interests of students first and foremost. Our members work every day to make Tennessee a better place for students to learn and for teachers to teach. That simple, affirmative message has not only led to the phenomenal growth of our organization, it has also brought the support of many in the business community, as well as governmental leaders.
